Last season, Terrance Ross won a state championship at Portland (OR) Jefferson. This year, the 6-foot-6 junior wing has moved on to national power Rockville (MD) Montrose Christian.
According to Ross, the move was made so that he could work on improving both his academic and recruiting profiles. So far, it looks t have worked as the athletic wing rattles off quite a list when asked who is recruiting him.
An electric leaper with long arms and a graceful stride in the open floor, Ross is also a dangerous shooter from deep. He's been working to add strength to his frame and like so many young players has a guy in the NBA that he tries to pattern his game after.
"Joe Johnson," answered Ross when asked who he tries to emulate. "I try to base my game off of a lot of what he does. I know most guys say somebody like Kobe. But he (Johnson) averages a lot of points and gets a lot done."
Like most other schools, Ross says that the interest from Kansas at this point has been preliminary in nature.
"They liked what they saw this summer," said Ross. "I think they are going to come out to watch soon."
Still growing physically, Ross is just in the beginning stages of his recruitment. He's not planning to cut his list down until at least this summer and claims to be wide open.
"I don't have any favorites at the moment," said Ross. "I'm still pretty wide open. I just want to play it out and see what happens."
