(12.24.02) Jones, the leading scoring team in the area (88.9) is lead by all state junior guard DANIEL GIBSON, who scores at a rate of 29.4 points a game to lead all area scorers. GIBSON scored 47 points in a wild 120-118 lost to Washington.
(12.12.02) Tack Minor and Daniel Gibson shared a backcourt all summer with the Houston Hoops, but it was Minor who has bragging rights after scoring 72 points as Washington (Texas) defeated Gibson's Jesse Jones team, 120-118.
Minor, a senior who is headed to LSU, also had 12 assists and 22 rebounds in the double overtime victory. Gibson didn't disappoint, either, finishing with 47 points and 11 assists.
(11.14.02) "We did a great job all the way around. We played together as a team defensivelyand offensively. Everyone who played stepped up and took on their roles. Our all around job was fantastic even though I had a rough shooting night," said Gibson. Gibson scored 23.

(10.30.02) Already he's considered one of the best guards in talent-rich Texas.
Already he's considered one of the best guards in all of America. Already he's been anointed.
But Jesse Jones superstar Daniel Gibson can get better.
"There are things we're trying to add," Jones coach Jesse Shelton said. "We used him mainly off on the wing the last two years. This year he'll be our full-time point guard. This year he'll dictate everything."
Gifted Daniel Gibson ready to lead
(08.08.020 "I started out on fire. I just ran out of gas in the end. I also hurt my knee at the end too."
(07.19.020 The true point guard from Jesse Jones High in Texas could develop into a star next season as he continues to show he knows the position as well as anyone his age.
(07.17.02) The rising sophomore from Jones High School is down here at the Nike Peach Jam proving what many have suspected all spring and summer long -- that he's the best guard in the nation's talent-rich Class of 2004.
"I love Daniel Gibson," TheInsidersHoops.com recruiting analyst Dave Telep said. "I love everything about his game. I don't know if he's the best prospect at point guard -- he very well might be -- but he is the most likely to turn in a consistent performance every time he steps on the floor."

(07.10.02) Daniel Gibson (Jones High in Houston) came into the camp rated as one of the top two (with Sebastian Telfair of New York, who is attending the Adidas Camp) junior guards in the country but was missing from the FOXSports.com Top 25 Nike Camp Performers list for a simple reason: He wasn't outstanding during any of his appearances in front of FOXSports.com.
(05.06.02) I thought he looked great at last summer's Nike Camp and Gibson has continued to improve and develop his game. He's a very good athlete with just as good skills. In Kingwood, he showed time and time again the ability to knock down the deep 3, often bringing the ball upcourt and drilling a 25-footer from the top of the key. Not exactly the greatest shot from a coach's perspective, but the way Gibson knocks them down, who cares? He's also got the ability to penetrate and plays with an unusual poise for a 10th grader. Gibson was one of the best players, regardless of class, in the tournament.
(01.28.02) Jones' Daniel Gibson has averaged 29.7 points in the last four games.
