effort in the last 16 games. Three other Jayhawks scored
exactly 11 points with double-double efforts from both Cole Aldrich (11

Trailing 35-26 at halftime, Iowa State pulled within 40-38 before the
Jayhawks went on a 14-0 run over the next 3:20 to gain a 54-38
advantage with less than 10 minutes left.

layup put KU ahead 61-41 with less than eight minutes left.
KU pounded the ball inside on the night registering 34 points in the
paint to Iowa State's 14 inside points. KU shot just 42
percent from the field, but performed well at the free throw line with
10 of 12 shooting. Meanwhile ISU shot just 34 percent from
Collins controlled the first half for KU scoring eight points and
handing out four assists without a turnover in 19 minutes of
play. Midway through the period backcourt mate Henry sparked
the Jayhawks. With the score tied at 15, Henry took control
scoring eight straight points – on a lay-up and consecutive
three-pointers - for KU as the Jayhawks moved ahead 23-16.
An Iowa State basket cut the margin to 23-19, but the Cyclones would
not get any closer the rest of the first half. Collins scored
on a drive at the end of the period to send KU into the locker room
with a 35-26 lead.
Kansas's 24-1 record is the best for a Jayhawk team since the 1996-97
team was 34-1. The Jayhawks also won their 10th conference
game marking double-digit conference wins for the 16th straight season
and 48th overall.
The Jayhawks have a quick turnaround traveling to play at Texas
A&M as part of ESPN's Big Monday television package.
It marks the second of three straight weeks KU will play on Big Monday.
