Aaron is a 2005 graduate of the University of Kansas and a 2007 graduate of the University of Arkansas. A journalist by trade, he comes to the site from the Louisburg Herald, where for the past six months he has served as the weekly publication's managing editor.
Prior to his time with the Herald, Aaron worked for two years as a
staff writer with the Olathe News and the Lenexa Centennial – two
suburban subsidiaries of the Kansas City Star – where his
responsibilities included covering everything from community news to
"I'm incredibly excited about this opportunity," Cedeño said. "I've
been a part of the Phog.net community for a long time, and it's always
been one of my goals to help contribute on a professional level to a
Web site and a community that has brought me such enjoyment. I can't
wait to get started."
Now with Phog.net, Aaron's primary responsibilities will be covering
recruiting for football and men's basketball, highlighting not only the
Kansas City area, but the State of Kansas as well as providing regional
coverage. In addition, he'll be a constant presence at press
conferences, practices and games for the current Jayhawk teams.
"This is a long overdue step for Phog.net," said Publisher, Tom Light.
"We've built one of the largest fan communities in college sports, and
yet we've never had a full-time writer. We felt the time was right to
make this investment, and I think our subscribers will truly benefit
from having someone on staff who will be putting in full-time hours. We
were extremely fortunate to be able to convince Aaron to come aboard,
and we look forward to giving him the forum and opportunity to display
his very capable skills."
Cedeño will begin providing content immediately, and will be full-time
within a few weeks.
