Travis Bodenstein – a 6-foot-5, 300-plus pound offensive tackle from Springdale (AR) Shiloh Christian High School – was favoring two schools last week, when he and his teammates began spring football practices.
Those two teams are Auburn and Kansas. Though the Tigers have yet to
extend an offer to Bodenstein, Tigers offensive line coach Jeff Grimes
made the trip to Springdale on May 17 to see the big lineman in person.
"They said they were going to evaluate some more film and decide after
that," he said, of a possible Auburn offer.
On Friday the Jayhawks made contact, as Head Coach Turner Gill spent
some time with Bodenstein on the phone, reiterating the program's high
level of interest and seeking to answer any questions he may have.
It now appears as if Kansas is the favorite.
"They're probably my top school," he said.
Bodenstein hopes to make a decision sometime in the next few weeks.
