State titles on the line for future Jayhawks

State championship dreams are still alive for three Kansas recruits. Jeremy Case, Omar Wilkes, and J.R Giddens will all attempt to lead their teams to glory in the next week.

Oklahoma 5A Tournament

John Marshall defeated Western Heights 62-43 on Saturday, propelling John Marshall into the state tournament. J.R. Giddens and John Marshall join Jeremy Case and McAlester High in the eight team field.

On Thursday McAlester takes on Chickasha at 3:30 pm at Edmund North. John Marshall plays Tulsa Central at 7 pm.

If both teams should win, each would play again on Friday at the Lloyd Noble Center. McAlester would play the 11:30 game with John Marshall playing at 2:30 pm.

The Oklahoma 5A state championship game will be held at noon on Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center.

CIF State Tournament

Omar Wilkes and Loyola repeated as Division I-A champions with a win over Canyon Springs on Saturday. The Cubs have two days of rest before entering the state tournament on Tuesday. Loyola takes on El Camino at El Camino at 7:30 pm. If Loyola should advance, the Cubs would play the winner of Bakerfield vs Fairfax on March 13th.
