One of Kentucky's biggest commitments to date is cornerback Riyahd Jones, a defensive back from Carver High in Columbus (Ga.). Jones talked about his performance this year as well as his allegiance to the Wildcats.

Carver is having a strong season this year, sitting at 9-0. Riyahd Jones has been a difference maker for his high school program this year. Jones has seen himself improve on both sides of the ball since the start of the season.

"I think I've improved most on tackling and technique at corner," said Jones. "At receiver, I think I've improved most on getting open," he said.

Jones, a three-star prospect, feels like Carver can do some damage in the second season.

"My season is going great. We're 9-0 right now. We start playoffs next week. I really think we have a shot at state," he said.

Winning a state championship is always a goal as a high school prospect and the next goal is typically to get a scholarship offer and play at the next level. For Jones that dream is already a reality. He's planning to sign with Kentucky in February. Jones has also taken an unofficial visit to Kentucky and has a good read on the Wildcats this season.

"My first visit up there was great. It was for the Auburn game," said Jones. The Cats lost that game on a game winning field goal, but Jones isn't worried.

"I think the Cats are still playing good football. They are just coming up short I a few games," he said.

Jones stays in contact with a few other Wildcat commitments.

"I have been talking to other commits. I've talked with E.J. May, Daylen Hall and Blake Terry," he said.

Jones plans to take his official visit to UK in December.
