Tandy and his Christian County Colonels were preparing for a huge game on Friday night when they faced the Warren Central Dragons. Tandy got a visit from Kentucky offensive line coach Mike Summers at his school on Friday and got big news.
"Yes, it's true (that they offered me)," said Tandy. "I was happy (about the offer), but I couldn't show it because I was trying to stay focused on the game," Tandy said.
Tandy went on that evening to lead Christian County to a 27-26 overtime win on the road. He had 11 carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 26 yards. Defensively Tandy recovered a fumble and got an interception.
The 6-foot receiver and defensive back prospect has had games like this all season. Through twelve games, Tandy has accumulated 468 yards rushing on 66 carries and eight touchdowns. He's caught 42 passes for 676 yards and seven touchdowns. He's also had five interceptions, one returned for touchdown and returned six kicks for touchdowns on the season. That's 22 touchdowns this year for Tandy in an array of different ways.
Tandy has visited Kentucky in the past and will visit again during basketball season. He currently has offers from Middle Tennessee State, Ohio, Western Kentucky, Arkansas State and Murray State. While Kentucky is clearly his best offer, he's not quite ready to pull the trigger.
"I'm going to wait it out," he said.
