Cats looking forward to a Christmas break

Darius Miller is entering his third holiday period at UK. This season the players get to go home for three or four days, due to the schedule. That is not always the case. Miller said, "I think my first year we practiced on Christmas so it was definitely kind of tough on us not being able to spend much time with our families."

Kentucky's Darius Miller was asked if the team has discussed the early game time against Winthrop and getting a chance to go home a little earlier for Christmas.

"Yeah, we've talked about it a little bit. I think a few guys are ready to get home and spend time with their families. It seems like the time worked out for all of us," said Miller.

Miller was asked about the adjustment needed at holidays as players enter college from high school.

"It was kind of tough. I think my first year we practiced on Christmas so it was definitely kind of tough on us not being able to spend much time with our families."

How much time will players have off this year to go home and visit?

"Three or four days and that's real good, everyone is happy about it."

Do the players look forward to not touching a ball for three or four days?

"I'm pretty sure well all do a little something with basketball, but like I said just being able to spend time with family is going to be really important to us," said Miller.

When you go home do people want to talk Kentucky basketball with you?

"They always do, especially with me being right around the corner. They always talk about UK hoops when I go home."
