"I had my final decision down to two schools and they were Kentucky and Louisville," said Bishop. "It just felt right and I knew that I wanted to be a member of Kentucky's football team. That's why I chose them," said Bishop.
The coaching staff was glad to add a walk-on like the 5-foot-8, 190-pound senior.
"The coaches were very excited when I told them my final decision. They seemed eager and ready for me to get out there with them to start practicing with the team. I was excited also," he said.
Bishop said things at Kentucky just felt right and he felt comfortable with his recruiter.
"I have a great deal of respect for their coaches. Coach (Greg) Nord is the one who has been recruiting me and I like the way he goes about his business," said Bishop. "He invited me to their football practice earlier too and after seeing their practice and they way they run things, I knew that I wanted to be a part of that in the years to come," Bishop continued.
As a walk-on, the expectations aren't always that high, but Bishop just wants to get better and help his team in the early going.
"I'm enrolling in summer classes at UK so I can begin participating earlier for the summer practices. I just want to work as hard as I can everyday to make myself and my teammates around me better. By working as hard as I can, good things will happen and I also hope to be able to contribute on the field," he finished.
