Zack Blaylock is listed as the 41st ranked safety in the nation by Scout.com. As a safety, there are many responsibilities on the field, but Blaylock's best assets are among the most important for the position.
"Tackling is my strength and getting interceptions," said Blaylock.
While his strengths are evident and he's already pretty highly acclaimed, he isn't satisfied with where he stands as a player.
"I'm doing speed training every other day. I'm doing school workouts and I have a trainer too," he said.
His skills and work ethic have earned him scholarship offers from several schools and attention from many others.
Blaylock competed last weekend at Kentucky's camp and he enjoyed the experience.
"It was good. I liked the competition. And coach (Steve) Brown put me through a bunch of defensive back drills. That was fun," he said.
Prior to the camp, many thought Kentucky was the leader for Blaylock and the camp obviously did nothing to change that perception, nor do his comments.
"I like (Kentucky) a lot. I like the coaches. They are really funny and cool," he said. "They are definitely our top school right now," he said.
Zack and his brother plan to take a visit to Ole Miss next weekend and they may visit Duke as well, but soon after a decision is one its way.
"We're making a decision after (Ole Miss). We might go to Duke, but I'm not sure if we're going to do that," he said.
