On Saturday the Kentucky Wildcats will hold their first scrimmage of the fall camp.
Coach Joker Phillips said, "We are looking forward to seeing some of those young kids and how they are going to compete. I also want to see some of the old guys that we have on the squad. It should be exciting. We are going to put the ball down and go to work. We will do a couple of special teams things early and then put the ball down and play ball."
Phillips described how the scrimmage would be conducted. He said after the team goes through some simulated special teams assignments, the team will go full speed with tackling.
"It will be a full-go scrimmage," Phillips said. "We will kick a few field goals and cover a few punts and then put the ball down and go full-speed tackling. We won't touch the quarterbacks but everybody else is live."
