Derek Willis might be the top player in the entire state of Kentucky as a rising junior. The skilled forward was heavily recruited by Purdue before making an early pledge. But Willis recently changed his mind.

"Derek still loves Purdue, but he wants to go through the entire process and take all five of his official visits next year," said Del Willis to Scout.com's Brian Snow earlier this month.

Willis took an unofficial to Louisville last weekend and followed that visit up with another visit to Lexington to check out Kentucky.

"This was my first time (visiting Kentucky)," said Willis. "(The coaches) were real laid back and easy to talk to," he continued.

Willis got a chance to see some of the sights on the UK campus before he headed back home.

"The Wildcat Lodge (stood out the most) and how spread out the campus was," he continued.

Kentucky looks to be a player in Willis's recruitment now and Kentucky Sports Report will keep you updated on the 6-foot-8 forward during his high school career.
