Kentucky will distribute tickets for this season's version of Big Blue Madness one week from tomorrow. The norm, even with the large number of seats available, has been for tickets to be quickly snatched up by fans anxious to get an early glimpse of the team.
Tickets for the event at Rupp Arena will be available Saturday, October 1st, beginning at 7 a.m. Ticket distribution will be held at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows on Euclid Avenue.
Tickets will also be available online at UKathletics.com and Ticketmaster.com.
Big Blue Madness, the first open practice opportunity for Kentucky's 2011-12 men's and women's basketball teams, is Friday, October 14th.
Tickets for the event are free, and there will be a limit of two tickets per person at Memorial Coliseum. Fans ordering tickets online will have a minimal service fee attached, there will be a limit of two tickets per household.
It has long been a tradition at Kentucky for fans to line up for the free tickets long before tickets are dispersed. Fans wishing to line up ahead of time at Memorial Coliseum are asked to do so no earlier than 7 a.m., Wednesday, September 28th.
The Athletics Department will provide portable restroom facilities. Safety concerns will prohibit the use of permanent, wooden-type structures. Propane tanks or other open flames used in cooking are also prohibited.
Alcoholic beverages or tobacco products are not permitted.
On Friday, September 30th, at 2 p.m. ET control cards will be issued to those fans camped out. Fans are encouraged to start lining up for Saturday morning's ticket distribution between 4-5 a.m. on Saturday.
