Vaught: Paul Biancardi on Goodwin commitment

Larry Vaught with Paul Biancardi's view on Archie Goodwin's verbal commitment to Kentucky

Here is what ESPNU basketball recruiting analyst Paul Biancardi has to say about Archie Goodwin's commitment to Kentucky:

"When Kentucky looks for talent one of the prerequisites is the ability to beat there man off dribble at their respective position. in a one on one situation whether it is in transition to finish or in the half court to create. Archie Goodwin is one of the best if not the best at finishing at the basket. His frame has good length at 6 3", he gets explosive as he gets closer to the rim (which is want all coaches want) and he exhibits excellent body control.

"With all that said he is more than just a driver. He has a pull up jumper from midrange and is becoming more intuitive in his passing game from his penetration. Most importantly, he is one tough competitor. A scoring guard now with ability to play all three spots on the perimeter. A tremendous recruit for anyone because he brings the whole package to the program. Talent, traits of a competitor, academics and high character. He certainly fits the system of the dribble drive offense, pressure full court defense that lends itself to the transition game that Kentucky is so successful with.

"Not surprised where he committed because he has been very open about how much he has wanted to play for Coach Calipari. A little caught off guard at the timing as he had more visits planned. I applaud him for doing his research, knowing what he wants and not playing with the process. If a recruit has the information, is ready and knows where he wants to go, it is better for everyone one involved that they not waste their own time or the coaches."
