Miller rarely gets enough credit, Pt 1

There's no player in recent years who has been more underappreciated by Kentucky fans than Darius Miller.

There's no player in recent years who has been more underappreciated by Kentucky fans than Darius Miller.

It's not that fans don't like the UK senior or consider him one of the team's more popular players since he's from nearby Mason County. It's just that the senior seldom get credit for doing enough on the court. No matter what he does, coaches and fans always seem to expect more.

He goes into the season with 851 career points in 112 career games and barring injury is a lock to join the 1,000-point club. He has 377 rebounds and likely will go over the 500 mark this season. He has 196 assists, 86 blocked shots and 81 steals. That means Miller likely will end his career with more than 1,000 points as well as go over 500 rebounds, 200 assists, 100 blocked shots and 100 steals.

And he's done it all while playing unselfish, team-oriented basketball.

"Darius Miller is the most athletic player on our team," point guard Brandon Knight said last year. "I've seen him do unbelievable things at times."

But that's the problem. He can make such an extraordinary move or play at times that it raises expectations to where when he merely does normal things it's not seen as enough.
