The Mayor speaks with Patrick Towles

Speaking with UK commit Fort Thomas Highlands High School's quarterback Patrick Towles, he was asked to comment about the quality of Lexington Catholics team? "He 's a helluva quarterback," Towles said of Catholic quarterback Kyle Bolin. "We expected to come down here and get a game and we are excited about getting a chance to play next week."

He said it was nice to come into Lexington and play well. "It was nice to come here where I expect to play the next four years and to get my first win here," an elated Towles said.

He was asked about the tough times Joker Phillips is going through right now.

He said, "Yeah, I'm definitely committed to coach Joker Phillips and it's the system. They will get better, I confident."

Yours truly was recently called by Jared Lorenzon off the air during a commercial break on one of my post game radio shows and dispelled of the speculation of Towles breaking his commitment. Towles comment was - "I'm definitely 100 percent committed to UK. I have a lot of trust in coach Phillips and coach Sanders and that system and I'm excited about going down there next year."

There was very little passing by Towles but he definitely made a lot of hay running the football.

We asked coach Mueller if that was his game plan for this game?

"No, No it wasn't," the coach said. "We wanted to pass it more but we got up and the run was there so we decided to take it and also run some time off the clock."
