UK Hoops to face MTSU Wednesday

The # 6/8 Kentucky Wildcats (11-1) look to close out their nonconference season against the Sun Belt's Middle Tennessee State University (8-5, 1-0) Wednesday night in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. ET.

The road contest for the Cats will be streamed live on ESPN3.COM and will be carried on the UK IMG Sports Radio Network with Neil Price (locally on 1580 AM).

All twelve SEC schools have winning records, with Kentucky (11-1), Vanderbilt (11-1) and Arkansas (10-1) leading the way before conference play begins. After dropping its first contest of the season, Arkansas has won its next ten games and has the longest winning streak.

Kentucky's sole loss this season was a road contest at # 3 Notre Dame, a game in which the wildcats led by a point with five minutes to play. Junior A'dia Mathies scored 17 points in that game to lead Kentucky, despite fouling out with more than seven minutes to play. It was also McDonald's All-American and U Conn transfer Samarie Walker's first game as a Wildcat. Walker added seven points and seven rebounds in only 12 minutes of play.

After playing Middle Tennessee State University on Wednesday, the schedule will not get easier as the Cats will travel to Gainesville to face Florida (9-3) on New Year's Day before returning to Lexington to face Arkansas (10-1).
