Calipari knows the importance of a veteran player the next few months when UK faces eight SEC road games and a healthy Terrence Jones fills the bill.

After scoring just 15 points in four games and sitting out two games with a hand injury, Kentucky sophomore Terrence Jones has scored 30 points in the last two games, including 20 against South Carolina in the SEC opener.

He's 11-for-15 from the field with nine rebounds in the last two games. However, he has made four turnovers in each of the last two games. Calipari said Tuesday Jones will be fine" and was good in practice Monday.

"Guys don't want to slide back to where they were on that kind of stuff. You want to build on it and I think he understood it," the Kentucky coach said. "He's shooting the ball better and is more confident. I am not talking 3's. I am talking those 8- , 9-, 10-footers that he can make. Around the basket plays. He's going to get rebounds with two hands and is talking more. He is more confident. He is doing more stuff."
