Kentucky inked prep school safety Sterling Wright yesterday and many casual followers wondered who he was. But Wright wasn't just a last minute addition.

Kentucky has been keeping tabs on the North Carolina Tech prospect for a while, and Wright was even on campus recently for an official visit. On that visit, Wright gained a level of comfort for UK.

"The coaches and players were all very welcoming. I just had a good vibe about the place," said Wright.

While totaling 55 tackles and forcing eight fumbles, Wright earned the reputation as a big hitter. But Wright is more than just a physical presence. He uses his mental capacity as well.

"I love the game of football and I'm a student of the game," said Wright.

In the end, Wright will be bringing his game to Kentucky – situation he is excited about.

"I was very excited (to get the offer). Kentucky has a lot to offer; the school and the city of Lexington. It was extremely big to (sign with UK). I get a chance to play in the best college football conference, the SEC," he finished.

Wright picked Kentucky over Middle Tennessee State and Minnesota.
