Vanderbilt is 17-7 overall and 6-3 in the SEC, tied with Mississippi State for third place.
The Commodores are near desperation mode for a win. They have lost two of their last three and three of their last six, games. They are only 1-3 against ranked opponents, their lone win coming against then- #14 Marquette (now #18).
A loss could place them in a tie for 4th place in the SEC as Alabama is likely to beat cellar-dweller LSU. With four of their final six games coming on the road and including UK in Lexington and Florida, the Dores can ill-afford to lose this game.
Vanderbilt shoots 46.8% from the floor, and 39.3% from three point range, averaging 77 points per game. This game may come down to whether they can connect at this rate against an extremely stingy Kentucky defense, which has been holding its opponents to 35.8% shooting and just 31% from three point range, giving up just 57 points per contest.
Another big key may be whether Vandy can count on much productivity against the shot blockers of UK.
