Conner High quarterback Drew Barker has been a hot prospect in the Midwest this spring. Barker has three scholarship offers from regional programs, most recently, from Illinois.

"I just received offer number three from Illinois," Barker said. "I know Illinois just got a brand new coaching staff. I'm very interested in getting up there to check everything out. I'm going to make it a priority to get up there," Barker said.

Before the offer, Barker camped in Lexington with Kentucky and felt like he made a good impression on the UK staff.

"Kentucky went very well," he said. "I got a chance to talk with Coach Joker Phillips, Coach Randy Sanders and Andre Woodson. They were very impressed. Coach Joker, especially."

Barker hasn't gotten an offer from Kentucky yet, but he isn't concerned at this point.

"I really enjoyed talking to Coach Phillips and Coach Sanders. Chuck Smith has been recruiting me and he came to my school a month ago. He told me they weren't going to offer me right away because they wanted to get to know me. He told me just to not get impatient," Barker said.

Barker looks like the top prospect in Kentucky's 2014 class. He helped Conner to a 7-6 record and threw for almost 1500 yards and seven touchdowns. He rushed for more than 1500 yards and 22 scores on the ground.
