In the SEC you can never have too much speed and one of the recruits high on Kentucky's wish list, Rashard Fant, has as much as anybody.

"I'm a speedster," said Fant, who runs a 4.37 forty. "I have a knack for the game. I'm a competitor and I'm a playmaker. My vision really helps me when I get on the field. When I make a move, the game slows down. Everything happens in my head before I make a move," he said.

Fant plans to bring his skills to one of five schools and he hopes to make his decision this week.

"My top five are Kentucky, Ole Miss, Florida State, Utah and Western Kentucky, in no order," said Fant. "I was trying to make (my decision) this week. Hopefully I can still do that. But I'll make the decision when I feel most comfortable," he said.

Fant talked a little about Kentucky, specifically.

"As a school, they have great academics. And they are making strides to get even better academically," he said. "As a football team, they weren't the best in the SEC. But they are trying to be the best and they are trying to recruit the best."

Fant's good friend, Deangelo Yancey committed to Kentucky today, but that won't necessarily lead to Rashard going in the same direction.

"My friend Deangelo committed to UK today. If I choose them, then great, but if not, I wish them the best," Fant continued.

He outlined some of the most important things he's looking for when making his college choice.

"Academics are important to me. I don't want the degree to be just a degree. I want it to mean something and lead to a career after football. And when I'm on campus, I want to feel like this is a place I can be for four years. Also, I want a football team that is always working and preparing for a great season," he finished.
