Kentucky is in line to receive an official visit from one of the Sunshine State's top prospects.
Three-star Weston (Fla.) Cypress Bay defensive back Boaz Joseph says the Wildcats will receive one of his five official visits this fall.
"I'm not sure of the date yet, but I know that will be one of my official visits," he said. "They're one of my main schools I'm looking at. The other is probably Wisconsin. I think I'll be visiting those two. I still have to decide who else I want to visit."
Joseph has seen his stock steadily rise over the spring and summer. He currently has 15 scholarship offers, including BCS programs like UK, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana, Pittsburgh, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, Rutgers and Syracuse.
"I don't have a leader yet," he said. "It's still too early."
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Joseph says he stays in regular contact with UK assistant coach Mike Cassity, who also serves as the Wildcats' secondary coach.
"I've got a good relationship going with him. He's a cool guy," Joseph said. "I like him a lot. We talk about every week. He tells me how hard they're working up there and how he wants me to come up and see them play."
Joseph visited UK unofficially this summer, but came at a time when there weren't many students on campus.
"That's the main thing," he explained about his next trip to Lexington. "I want to go up there when the players and students are there so I can see if I'd fit in. I want to see the game atmosphere and see what it's like from the players' perspective."
Kentucky has a pair of Florida safeties on its 2013 commitment board in the form of Blake McClain and Jalen Battle, but would like to add a couple of corners as well. As a junior, Joseph picked off five passes.
He has a scrimmage on Friday against Homestead High School and will open his senior season on Aug. 31 against Deerfield Beach.
