All was not lost Saturday. The Wildcats were able to pick up a verbal commitment from one of their visitors to the South Carolina game.

Atlanta (Ga.) Grady tight end Darren Dowdell made it official after months of flirting with the idea of a verbal to UK.

"UK showed love last night, feels like home #BBN #WeAreUK," Dowdell said via his @DDouble_81 handle on the Twitter social network. "im gonna turn this program around #str8."

He also held offers from programs like Ole Miss, Louisville, Indiana, N.C. State and Wake Forest.

Dowdell (6-4, 225) caught approximately 50 passes and 10 touchdowns as a junior at Grady, the same program that produced current Wildcat defensive back Marcus Caffey.

He is the 14th verbal commitment for UK in the Class of 2013 and the only tight end to date.

Stay tuned to KentuckyScout for more details on Dowdell's commitment as they become available.
