Former UK commit has not heard from Cats

One-time Kentucky signee David Washington had expected to rejoin the Wildcats after spending two years in junior college, but it doesn't appear to be the case now.

Most of the players who had committed to the former Kentucky coaching staff have heard from the Wildcats since Mark Stoops was introduced as head coach.

There is one notable exception, however.

Hinds Community College defensive tackle David Washington, who signed with UK out of Lovejoy (Ga.) High School in 2011, does not think he's part of the Wildcats' plans moving forward.

"I literally haven't heard from anybody up there since the coaching change," Washington said. "I can't really say I'm considering them anymore because of that. I don't think they're considering me."

One of his other top contenders earlier in the recruiting process, Mississippi State, may no longer be in the mix, either.

Washington said he's considering Texas Tech, Kansas, Western Kentucky and Troy for official visits.

Washington (6-2, 305) had 33 tackles and two sacks as a sophomore at Hinds CC.
