Three-star Copley (Ohio) High School running back/defensive back Aregeros Turner was among a long list of official visitors at Kentucky this weekend.
The visit got started a day later for Turner, who had a basketball game on Friday night in his home state, but he said he still enjoyed the abbreviated trip to Lexington.
"I had a good time," he said. "We got to go to the game, saw some Kentucky Derby horses and spent a lot of time just being around the players and coaches on the team. I feel like I got a lot better feel for them now.
"Jonathan George was my host. He's a real good guy. I felt like I fit in pretty good with their players, especially the guys in my class. They had a lot of good players down there this weekend."
Turner (5-10, 175, 4.4) originally committed to Cincinnati, but re-opened the process when Bearcats head coach Butch Jones left for the Tennessee job. He's still considering both schools, along with Kentucky, but isn't completely sure how the coaching carousel will affect him.
Kentucky has emerged as a strong contender and may have strengthened its position this weeekend.
"I liked what the coaches said about how they plan to use me in their spread offense," Turner said. "It sounds like they want to get me the ball a lot of different ways and let me make plays with my speed in open space."
Asked if there were any surprises about his UK visit, Turner said: "Not really. I already knew they had a good fan base and support. I got to see that at the game. I was a little surprised that they knew about me and had a poster with my face on it. That was cool."
He isn't quite ready to make his college decision, though.
"I still need to take all my visits," Turner said.
Turner is considered one of the fastest prospects in the Buckeye State for 2013. He rushed for more than 1,100 yards as a senior.
