Second-ranked LSU scored five runs in the first inning Sunday, coming out of the gate with four extra-base hits en route to an 11-4 win and series sweep of No. 7 Kentucky in Baton Rouge.
LSU (30-2, 11-1 SEC) won its 11th consecutive game. Kentucky (22-8, 6-6) lost a league series for the first time in four attempts this season. The Wildcats had opened the season with series wins over Florida, Mississippi State and Georgia.
The Tigers' Cody Glenn (5-1) worked six innings, allowing six hits and one run. The bullpen surrendered a three-run homer to UK's A.J. Reed, his eighth of the season, but that was most of the damage the Cats could mount on the day.
JaCoby Jones led LSU with a three-hit, four-RBI day. Alex Bergman drove in three runs for the Tigers. NCAA RBI leader Mason Katz added two hits and two more runs driven in to his season total.
Kentucky starter Corey Littrell (4-1) suffered his first loss of the year, allowing nine hits and a career-high nine runs over four innings.
The Cats return to action Tuesday against Austin Peay (25-6) in a 6:30 p.m. ET game at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
