Kentucky has reportedly issued its first scholarship offer to a member of the 2016 class.
St. Louis Chaminade College Prep guard Jayson Tatum told Scout's Brian Snow on Monday that he received the good word from UK head coach John Calipari that evening.
The UK staff had an opportunity to watch the 6-6 wing over the weekend at the Nike EYBL in Hampton, Va. Tatum played with the St. Louis Eagles' 16U squad during the event.
In addition to UK, Tatum holds offers from Florida. Illinois, Kansas, Marquette, Memphis and Missouri. Indiana and Michigan State have also been expressing early interest.
Tatum would be only the second known underclassman to land an offer from Calipari. The other is 2015 Memphis big man Skal Labissiere.
