One of Kentucky's favorite old recruiting spots has led to the Wildcats' ninth verbal commitment in the Class of 2014.

Three-star Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson defensive back Jared Tucker confirmed Wednesday night that he has decided to play for Mark Stoops' program, choosing UK over almost two dozen offers that also included Ohio State, Florida, South Carolina, Miami, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Missouri and Ole Miss.

Tucker (6-0, 178, 4.45) comes from the same high school program that produced current UK running back Raymond Sanders, wide receiver DeMarcus Sweat, defensive back Shawn Blaylock, defensive lineman Jabari Johnson and tight end Ronnie Shields.

Defensive back is a major priority for the UK staff in this year's class. Tucker, who is projected to play corner, is the second player in the secondary to announce his commitment, joining Maryland safety Kobie Walker.

Stay tuned to KentuckyScout for more details on Tucker's commitment and a Q&A with the newest Wildcat.
