Kentucky has been very aggressive on the recruiting front under the new Mark Stoops regime. One player that they've targeted is equally aggressive on the field - Keith Holcombe.

Keith Holcombe is one of the better linebacker prospects in the state of Alabama. The Hillcrest High (Al.) prospect has several offers in hand at this point including Kentucky, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Middle Tennessee State and Southern Mississippi.

"On a regular basis I've been in touch with most of the schools that have offered," Holcombe said.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior doesn't have a favorite at this time, but he does have a favorable impression of Kentucky and Mark Stoops.

"Right now every school is even until I take my visits this summer," said Holcombe. "I think (Kentucky) is going to be extremely competitive with Coach Stoops and be a contender in the SEC."

Holcombe has a plan of action for his recruitment and has a good idea of when he wants to make his choice.

"I am thinking I will decided probably right after football season," he said. "What I'm looking for is great atmosphere on and around campus - a home-like place," he said.

FOX Sports Next will keep you posted on Keith Holcombe.
