Stanley Williams made his commitment to Kentucky today while on an unofficial visit. "Boom" had previously been committed to his home state Georgia Bulldogs, and he stated before that once he decommitted he would take his time.
But it appears the time is now for the 5-foot-8, 185-pound all-purpose back.
"I committed now because the atmosphere was crazy," said Williams. "The love that was shown from everyone and the family feeling that me and the family felt led me to commit."
Kentucky has been on quite a roll of late with commitments from several prospects just this week - including Mike Edwards, Darius West, Nico Firios and Denzel Ware. This played a role in getting Williams to commit.
"The recruiting class played a big factor in my decision," said Williams.
But in the end, Williams was just generally impressed with what the Wildcats had to offer.
"Everything (about UK) is great," Williams finished.
Williams and his commitment puts Kentucky into the Scout.com top ten recruiting classes in the nation for 2014.
