Cliff Alexander has gone through the recruiting process to this point without a formal list of schools he is considering. On Friday, the Chicago big man took to social media to narrow his potential suitors to a list of 10 programs.
"Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky, Louisville, Illinois, DePaul, Indiana, Memphis, Baylor, Arizona, NO ORDER," Alexander announced on his official Twitter account, @humblekid11.
Alexander is rated as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class of 2014 by Scout.com. Averaging 16 points, 11.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks, while shooting 58.7 percent from the field, the five-star big man has been arguably the most dominant force throughout the regular season of the Nike EYBL.
After leading his Chicago-based Mac Irvin Fire squad to an 11-7 record during the regular season, Alexander will have a chance to compete in the EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., beginning on July 11.
The 6-foot-9, 230-pound center is using the month of June to take a few unofficial visits. He is currently in Lawrence, Kan., to see the Jayhawks' campus. He plans to finish out the weekend by visiting his home state school Illinois on Saturday.
Alexander is known for his brute strength and defensive prowess in the low post. He is a gifted athlete with a relentless motor, making him one of Kentucky's top priorities in the 2014 class.
And while UK head coach John Calipari is in a great position to land the Metropolitan High School standout, it seems as though the Kentucky coaching staff will have to battle it out with a handful of other elite programs from around the nation.
Ten for Alexander
