Savage (6-1, 183, 4.6) plays wide receiver and safety for Athens Drive High School in Raleigh, N.C. The 2016 prospect is already hearing from programs like Kentucky, Penn State, Clemson, Arkansas, Florida, Miami, Florida State, Michigan and Ohio State.
And he's already got one Kentucky connection. Savage is friends with current Wildcat recruit and 2015 Ohio lineman George Brown, Jr.
"George Brown and I met at a Clemson camp over this summer and ever since then we become close friends," Savage said "We both have talked about playing college together."
Savage recently made an unofficial visit to Lexington.
"I visited Kentucky for the Louisville game and came away impressed," he said. "The crowd was electric, even though the stadium wasn't a sellout. I really enjoyed my visit to Kentucky and want to make it back to Kentucky in the future."
Since his visit to Kentucky, Savage has also visited Florida, Ohio State and Clemson. He plans to visit Arkansas on Nov. 2 and Michigan at some point this season.
Asked if any of the schools are standing out so far, Savage said: "Kentucky is my favorite right now because of the chances of playing early. Early playing time is a major factor in my decision.
Could that long-awaited first scholarship offer be en route to his house now?
"Coach Tommy Mainord has built a really good relationship with me and my mom. He sent me a big envelope and told me to call him when I open it. I talked to some of my teammates on the envelope size. All my teammates said every big envelope they got from programs was an offer. I really hope it is a Kentucky offer. A Kentucky offer would be hard to say no too."
Savage says he'd like to make his college decision between the end of this season and before next season.
