His original plan was to wait until the spring signing period to make a college decision, but Trey Lyles will not delay the process any further.

The five-star Indiana power forward will announce his college choice at Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis on Tuesday – his 18th birthday - with a national TV audience awaiting the word at 12:55 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Lyles de-committed from Indiana University in August of 2012 and instantly attracted a host of new suitors from major programs across the country. After narrowing his list to Kentucky and Louisville in September, Lyles will make one of the rabid fan bases in the Bluegrass State very happy today.

Lyles has visited both schools several times leading up to the decision. He most recently attended UK's Big Blue Madness event on Oct. 18.

The 6-foot-9, 240-pound big man ranks as the No. 1 power forward and No. 8 overall player in the Class of 2014.

Heading into his announcement, rumors are swirling that Lyles will pick the Wildcats over the Cardinals, likely giving UK head coach John Calipari just enough star power to once again hold the No. 1 recruiting class in the country.

Should the buzz hold true, Lyles would join five-star New Jersey center Karl Towns Jr. in the front court, along with four-star Chicago point guard Tyler Ulis and four-star Mississippi shooting guard Devin Booker in the backcourt.

He could also lighten some concerns in the Big Blue Nation about a "recruiting slump" for the Cats this year, giving UK two major commitments in the last two weeks.
