Jalen Christian (5-10, 170, 4.5) plays wide receiver and defensive back at Damascus High School in Damascus, Maryland. Thursday he received an offer from Kentucky. He also has offers from Maryland, NC State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina, Temple, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Duke, Tennessee, West Virginia, UConn and Pittsburgh.
He mentions that South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Kentucky are recruiting him the hardest. Christian tells AllWildcats.com his reaction to the Kentucky offer and where Kentucky stands in his recruitment.
"It was a blessing to get an offer from Kentucky. UK assistant Tommy Mainord offered me and the way he was talking Kentucky will be something serious in the next few seasons, which is something I liked to hear. Coach Mainord told me how Kentucky wanted me play on either side of the field and how the staff would use me in their schemes. I feel I can fit in their schemes," he continued.
Currently Jalen has no Junior Days or camps planned, but he wants to plan some visits. He's just not sure where he will be visiting as of now.
Christian discussed the crucial factors that will determine where he will go to college.
"The school, staff and team has to feel like a family to me. Academics is another factor that I will be looking into. I'm also looking at how the coaches and players interact with each other and very crucial factor is going to be distance. In fact 8 hours away is the limit of how far I want to be from my family," he continued.
The elite prospect explains why he is sought after recruit.
"I bring explosiveness and some shake and bake to the game," he finished.
Jalen currently has no top five or decision date as he's enjoying the recruiting process.
