UK Super Bowl spot causes buzz

Commericals always generate quite a bit of chatter on Super Bowl Sunday, and Kentucky football got in on the fun this year with a special ad that caused a buzz across the Big Blue Nation.

Commericals always generate quite a bit of chatter on Super Bowl Sunday, and Kentucky football got in on the fun this year with a special ad that caused a buzz across the Big Blue Nation.

In the minute-long spot which aired locally and in some markets across the state, the voice of UK head coach Mark Stoops says "People ask me, why here? Why Kentucky?" as images of several Wildcat players get some computerized uniform treatment.

After explaining how he intends to get the job done, Stoops closes the spot with a response to the original question: "Why not?"

Several current players and a few UK recruiting targets chimed in with their thoughts on the ad via Twitter.

Said five-star Berea (Ky.) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris, who holds offers from schools like UK, Florida, Ohio State and Michigan already: "@Damien_D1Harris I can't lie, I did have to run that UK commercial back. It got me too hype! #BBN"

And 2014 Louisville (Ky.) Seneca defensive end/linebacker Lloyd Tubman, who is rumored to be switching his commitment from Penn State to UK on Wednesday: "@Be_determined_1 #BBN"

Or 2015 Ohio tight end C.J. Conrad: "@cjconrad1 Not gonna lie that Kentucky commercial earlier was raw."
