The Marshall Henderson Show is coming to town.
Everyone's favorite player they love to hate brings his 3-point gunslinging to Rupp Arena tonight for a 7 p.m. ET tipoff between Kentucky (16-5, 6-2 SEC) and Ole Miss (15-6, 6-2) for sole possession of second place in the league standings.
Like Missouri, Ole Miss features a dynamic backcourt in Henderson (19.2 ppg) and Jarvis Summers (17.8 ppg). Between them, they've made 112 3-pointers this season. Henderson ranks third nationally at 4.28 made 3-pointers per game. Earlier this season, he hit a school-record 10 against Oregon en route to a 39-point effort.
Defensively, the Rebels are last in the SEC at 71.1 points allowed per game, but that stat is a bit misleading due to the up-tempo offense they typically run. Ole Miss ranks No. 2 in the conference behind only LSU and just ahead of UK in blocked shots per game at 6.8.
Blocked shots were a big part of UK's win in Oxford last season. Freshman Nerlens Noel rejected a school-record 12 shots in the Cats' 87-74 win.
The Rebels will be seeking a rare victory in Lexington. They're 2-50 all-time on UK's home courts, winning only in 1927 at Alumni Gym and in 1998 against the eventual national champions. The latter came on Valentine's Day, prompting one heartbroken Big Blue fan to infamously call the network radio show and proclaim the Cats "the worst 22-4 team" he had ever seen.
