Wildcat Impact: Nick Richardson

Another of the members of the Kentucky 2014 recruiting class has faxed his letter of intent to the Wildcat coaching staff. Nick Richardson is officially a Wildcat.

Nick Richardson

SCHOOL: Westerville (OH) Central

SIZE: 6-foot-4, 280-pounds

POSITION RANKING: Number-52 guard

SCOUTING REPORT: He's a pure power guy. He's a beat you up, in your face mauler. He's not a kid that has blown us away in a camp setting, because that doesn't play to his strengths. Road grater type run blocker right now. He'll have to keep working in pass protection, but there's no doubt he'll give maximum effort and play with intensity. -- Allen Trieu

WHY Kentucky: "I think a lot of people are going to start taking us seriously in the next couple of years. We're on the rise, a couple more recruiting classes like this years and I think we can surprise a lot of people," said Richardson.

So, what can Kentucky fans expect from Richardson when he gets to Lexington?

"I've already been in the weight room this offseason and I'm looking forward to getting into the lifting system I'll be in for the next few years and try and fill out my body in a few areas. I put on some good weight and hopefully do what I can to get on the field in the fall, but if red-shirting works out too, I'd be more than happy to take an extra year of lifting and have the four years of eligibility left," said Richardson.
