The Wildcats (9-2) won 9-5 in the first game of a weather-induced doubleheader and claimed a 13-2 victory in the series finale.
Chandler Shepherd highlighted the opener with eight strong innings on the mound. The junior right-hander improved to 2-0 on the season by scattering five hits and walking just one. He surrendered no earned runs and struck out six.
Tyler Russell (0-1) took the loss for the Eagles, giving up three earned runs on five hits over 3.1 innings.
The second game saw UK pound out 17 hits, including a career-best 4-for-5, three-RBI game by junior third baseman Max Kuhn. Cousino raised his team-leading batting average to .438 with a three-hit game and also drove in three runs.
Reed, the reigning national player of the week, extended his hitting streak to 13 games, blasted another home run and drove in two, pushing his season numbers to .429-7-20.
Sophomore catcher Zach Arnold also had a multi-hit game for the Cats.
The massive run support helped starter Kyle Cody improve to 2-0 on the season. The sophomore right-hander allowed only two hits and struck out three over four innings of work. From there, the UK bullpen held the Eagles in check with solid outings from Spencer Jack, Andrew Nelson, Taylor Martin, Matt Snyder and Ryne Combs. That group allowed only two runs (one earned) on six hits over the final five innings.
Charlie Land (0-1) started and surrendered six earned runs on eight hits in two innings for Eastern Michigan (4-7).
UK returns to action Tuesday at Cincinnati in a 4 p.m. ET game.
