"(Kentucky's assistant coach) Derrick Ansley told me I was going to get offered. When I was, I was really excited," Broussard said. "Coach Ansley has been telling me he wants to coach me at Kentucky. Just having my first offer feels good. I'll be on UK's campus next month for their spring game."
Broussard (6-0, 165) took Top DB honors at the MVP Camp in Valdosta, Ga. He plans on hitting the road even more this year to increase his exposure.
"I'm going to be at Nike camp March 30th," he said. "This summer, I'm planning on taking in one of Auburn spring practices, visit South Carolina, Georgia and LSU. I might be visiting more schools, just not sure who I will be visiting."
The sophomore prospect currently has one school in the SEC as his favorite, but its not Kentucky. "LSU is my favorite because of their history with the defensive backs, the way the coaches coached them and how the defensive backs at LSU can take over the games."
Broussard is looking at specific factors when making his college decision. "I'm looking at a place where I can start as a freshman. I'm looking at the relationships I've built with the coaches and getting education."
Don't expect an early decision. He says he'll likely make his college decision at the end of his senior year.
