Kentucky first baseman/pitcher A.J. Reed has been named SEC Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.

The junior from Terre Haute, Ind., led UK to a series win over No. 12 Florida and a midweek win over No. 8 Louisville last week. He hit home runs in all three games of the weekend SEC series and also worked seven shutout innings on the mound in Friday's win.

Reed went 8-for-12 with three home runs, six RBI and a 1.667 slugging percentage against the Gators.

Going into the week, Reed had been named the Midseason Player of the Year by Perfect Game USA. He is the only player in the nation from a BCS conference with eight or more home runs, leading the SEC with 12 homers and 39 RBI.

The Cats' left-hander is 6-1 with a 1.93 ERA on the mound.

No. 19 Kentucky (22-10, 6-6 SEC) raised its RPI to No. 4 over the weekend. The Wildcats return to action Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ET against Morehead State at Cliff Hagan Stadium. Missouri visits Lexington for a three-game set this weekend.
