"Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Miami and Kentucky are showing the most interest right now," he said. The Gators have been rumored to be out in front, however, he does not claim a leader or a top five at this time.
Kentucky was the first major program to offer Cox.
During his time in Lexington, Cox liked what he saw and heard.
"I really had a great time visiting Kentucky," he said. "I love the campus and the coaching staff. I saw all the current facilities and the coaches talked about the new facilities being built in the coming years. I know the facilities will be very nice.
"Coach (Chad) Scott told me that the program is rebuilding and needs a guy like me to come in and play early," added Cox, who noted that playing time will be a major factor in his eventual decision. The Cats' current starting fullback, D.J. Warren, is a senior this season.
Asked if the visit helped the Cats chances with him, he said "Yes, it really did."
Cox is planning on a return visit to the Bluegrass in the summer. A decision could come before his senior season kicks off.
