Cats to play Texas in SEC/Big 12 Challenge

Kentucky will play Texas for only the second time in school history as part of this year's SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

The Wildcats and Longhorns will play Dec. 5 at Rupp Arena in the second year of the event coordinated by ESPN. Last year, UK played Baylor at AT&T Stadium in Texas.

It will be another opportunity for Lone Star State natives Andrew and Aaron Harrison to play against a team from their home state.

The event will feature 10 games, including each member of the Big 12 and all but four (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State and Texas A&M) from the SEC. Every game will be televised on one of ESPN's networks.

Kentucky and Texas last met during the 1993-94 season with UK claiming an 86-61 win at the Maui Invitational. Tony Delk scored 15 points to lead the No. 5 Wildcats to the lopsided victory. Jared Prickett added 14 points and 14 rebounds for UK.
