Kentucky sophomore guard Dominique Hawkins will be working on his game during an upcoming trip to Asia with Sports Reach.
The Reach USA squad will be on a cultural exchange basketball trip from May 10-25.
Hawkins, who will be joined on the trip by players from Illinois, Murray State, Texas Tech, TCU, Southern, Troy and Jacksonville State, will join former Wildcats like Josh Harrellson, Jon Hood and Eloy Vargas who have participated in the cultural exchange program in the past.
As a freshman, Hawkins played in 33 games for UK's national runner-up squad. He scored 25 points and grabbed 23 rebounds while serving primarily as a defensive specialist off the bench, but he could see that role expand in 2014-15. The former Kentucky "Mr. Basketball" was a high-scoring guard for Madison Central's state championship team as a senior.
Next season, he'll be part of a backcourt that includes sophomore twins Aaron and Andrew Harrison, freshman Tyler Ulis and freshman Devin Booker.
