D.C. area WR close to Committing? Over the last couple of days, I've talked to several sources who have told me the Cats are leader for the three-star Washington, D.C., prospect Jabari Greenwood. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wideout may be close to committing. There are many signs that he could be ready to end the process. He's very close to UK target Darius Fullwood and good friends with UK 2014 signee Kobie Walker. The latter, along with UK assistant coach Tommy Mainord, have been actively recruiting the dynamic duo for quite some time. I believe he's waiting on Fullwood to make his final decision before he commits.

Five-star DE Visiting Kentucky? Baker County (Fla.) High School defensive end CeCe Jefferson has tweeted out to current Cat Matt Elam in the last few days about visiting Kentucky. Jefferson is considered the No. 1 defensive end in the nation and a five-star prospect. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive end has been offered by the most premiere programs in the entire nation. If the staff can get him on campus, UK may have a slight chance, but until then Florida is considered the favorite with Florida State and Alabama battling for second and third.

Florida DE Lands Offer from Cats: East Bay (Fla.) Senior High School defensive end Marques Ford received an offer from Kentucky in the last few days. Ford was surprised when the offer came, but the 6-foot-4, 220-pound athlete tells AllWildcats he's excited about it and is planning to visit Lexington soon. He also mentions Kentucky is now high on his list of schools.

In-state Junior Will Camp at UK: Bryan Station High School wide receiver Marcus Floyd is planning to camp at UK this summer. Kentucky offensive coordinator Neal Brown watched Marcus during one of the Defenders' spring practices and came away intrigued. The 6-foot-1,185-pound wide receiver mentions Toledo and Western Kentucky also visited him this week with Cincinnati and Toledo checking in last week. He is still awaiting his first major scholarship offer, but Floyd is getting interest from many programs like Purdue, Penn State, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Indiana as well. UK and Louisville are his two favorites.

Alabama DB to Visit Kentucky: Bob Jones (Ala.) High School defensive back Jarek Taylor plans to camp at Kentucky this summer. "Coach (Derrick) Ansley wants me come down to UK to put a face to the picture. Coach told me it's likely I'll receive an offer from them when I come down this summer." The 5-foot-10, 191-pound defensive back was supposed to be in Lexington in April, but it was the day of his prom. Taylor says Southern Mississippi, Louisville, Mississippi State, Clemson, California, Florida State and Kentucky are his favorites, but UK is starting to stand out in the crowd. "I'm really good friends with (current UK commit) Logan Stenberg." The 6-foot-6, 328-pound offensive tackle committed a little over a month ago. Stenberg has been telling Taylor how nice his experience was when he visited UK and is urging him to join the BBN. "I already love the fans at Kentucky, and I've built a great relationship with Coach (Derrick) Ansley," Taylor said.

2016 In-state Sophomore to Camp at UK: Dunbar High School running back DeRante Sanders will be on UK's campus June 7th for a camp. The 5-foot-10, 176-pound sophomore is being recruited as an hybrid linebacker and safety position for the Cats, not a running back. Brown visited PLD earlier this week to check on the Bulldogs. Sanders was concerned about playing the linebacker position, but Brown told him not to worry because he'll become comfortable at the position as he matures physically. Sanders said Brown told him to work on his back pedaling because he would play some coverage in the defensive scheme if he eventually came to UK. Sanders grew up as an Ohio State fan, but the Cats are the favorites right now due to their level of interest given. He added that, if offered, he'll commit on the spot during his visit next month.

2016 Sunshine State DE Talks UK Offer: Tampa Catholic (Fla.) High School defensive end Malik Barrow received an offer from Kentucky in the last few days. The 6-foot-1, 241-pound sophomore defensive end holds offers from North Carolina, Mississippi State and Michigan State as well. "I was not expecting the UK offer at all," he said. "I haven't received any mail from Kentucky before the offer. I was in complete shock when I was called out of class and later after practice when I was told of the offer from Chad Scott. I was very excited after finding out about the offer as I've heard Kentucky is doing big things and they are an SEC school." Barrow added he would love to visit UK, meet the coaches and get a feel for the campus. He is looking for a school "with great education, which I've heard Kentucky has that, and a great coaching staff that I can really connect with."

New 2015 and 2016 Offers: Cedar Grove (Ga.) High School defensive tackle Quentez Johnson received a Kentucky offer few days ago. The mammoth (6-3, 330) prospect said he is being recruited by UK safeties/special teams coach Craig Naivar. Westlake (Ga.) High School sophomore safety Nigel Warrior also landed an offer from the Cats. The four-star safety prospect holds offers from Minnesota and Ohio State. He currently has no favorites, but would love to visit UK in the future. Kentucky cornerbacks coach Derrick Ansley is handling his recruitment.
