During the nine-game trip, Hawkins averaged 9.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. The Richmond, Ky., native and former Bluegrass State "Mr. Basketball" from Madison Central High School shot 67 percent (10 of 15) from the field and went 2-for-2 from behind the 3-point arc.

He had a 27-point performance against the Lithuanian All-Stars and hit double-figures against Atletis Lithuania (14) and Athletas Lithuania (11). He also had an 11-rebound, five-assist game during the trip.

The trip could be highly beneficial to Hawkins as he enters his second year with the Wildcats. As a freshman, the 6-foot combo guard played in 33 games for UK's national runner-up squad, primarily as a defensive specialist. He totaled 25 points, 23 rebounds and 12 assists in limited playing time.

Recent UK players to also play on cultural exchange teams were Josh Harrellson, Jon Hood and Eloy Vargas. Harrellson's trip came before his breakout senior season with the Wildcats.
