Cats extend new offers

A pair of new scholarship offers emerged from Wednesday's camp session at UK.

Kentucky extended an offer to three-star 2015 defensive tackle DaQuan Hawkins and another to emerging 2017 athlete Jamyest Williams, both players out of Georgia.

Hawkins (6-3, 279) did not actively participate in camp drills Wednesday, but his physical presence commanded much attention from on-lookers. He recently picked up a scholarship offer from Louisville to go along with Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Middle Tennessee State. Programs like Florida, Georgia and Auburn have also been involved with the Atlanta Westlake standout.

Williams (5-10, 170) is a two-way player who has drawn early interest from programs like UK, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. The Lawrenceville Archer standout had 15 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown as well as 32 tackles and two interceptions playing as a freshman on the highly-competitive varsity scene in the Peach State.
