Cats showing interest in Georgia ATH

Harris County (Ga.) High School standout Tae Crowder recruitment is starting to heat up with some new schools entering the mix.

Crowder (6-2, 190) already holds offers from Kentucky and UAB while receiving strong interest from programs like Auburn, Georgia, Duke, Western Kentucky and Georgia Southern.

It may only be a matter of time before he moves from "sleeper" status to one of the top targets in the talent-rich Peach State.

The 2015 athlete tells us about the latest on his recruitment:

"Right now, Georgia Southern and UK are recruiting me the hardest," Crowder said. "The UK coaching staff shows me the most love over the other schools recruiting me."

He is being recruited by UK assistant coach Derrick Ansley.

"Kentucky sends me written letters telling me to come down for a visit," he said. "The letters also say how I could fit in their offensive schemes. They're recruiting me as hybrid between running back and wide receiver."

Crowder is being recruited similar to the role currently occupied by UK sophomore Ryan Timmons.

He says he is going to take a lot of unofficial visits after the dead period, but doesn't have a set schedule at this time.

The Peach State wideout wants to make his college decision after the season. His current top five, in order, are Kentucky, Auburn, UAB, Georgia State and Georgia.

"UK is No. 1 on my list because the coaching staff is showing me mad love," he said.

The home state Bulldogs haven't shown much interest in him as of yet, but could be a program to keep an eye on if his stock continues to rise.

As a junior, Crowder recorded 199 yards and two touchdowns on 13 receptions.
