Jackson Visits Rocky Top

Woodford County (Ky.) center Drake Jackson, the number one player at his position in the 2016 class, picked up a Tennessee offer last week and visited the Volunteers this weekend.

After adding an offer from Tennessee during the week, Drake Jackson took a visit to campus on Saturday and Sunday, and the 6-foot-2, 285-pound center was impressed.

"It was absolutely awesome," he said. "I didn't expect to enjoy it so much. I knew they had a great fan base, but not to the extreme I witnessed."

While watching practice, there were a few players who caught Jackson's eye.

"Jalen Hurd is a great athlete, and I can't wait to see what he can do in the SEC. The offensive line is a strong unit as well. I think Gilliam's story is impressive."

Jackson has offers from Alabama, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, UAB and Toledo in addition to the Volunteers.

He plans to keep in contact with head coach Butch Jones and his staff.

"They want me to keep calling once a week. I really like Coach Mahoney a lot. He's a cool guy to talk to. Coach Jones told me they don't want me to rush into a commitment, but that they do want me to be a Vol at the end of the day.

"They asked me to come down for the Florida game."

Jackson's high school season starts in under two weeks, but he will continue to visit colleges and go through his recruiting process during the Fall as well.

"I'll be at Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio State, and hopefully Alabama [for games]."
